Massage was something that came to me naturally. I rubbed my family and friends' feet when I was younger, then at 19 years old, I received my first full body massage and was hooked. From then it took me 10 years to finally attend and finish massage school.
Since my licensing, I have immersed myself in all things massage, from massage politics to loads of educational classes on different types of massage, treatments and working with various physiological and anatomical disorders and conditions. I have also had the privilege of working in diverse therapeutic facilities.
I have been an instructor and campus manager at Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage in Vancouver since January 2017 and a practicing Licensed Massage Therapist and educator for over 18 years. I trained in Hawaii at the Honolulu School of Massage in 1999 and attended Evergreen College of Healing Arts in Vancouver Washington in 2009. I have been teaching anatomy/physiology and massage modalities in workshops and vocational colleges since 1999.
My specialties include integrated deep tissue, working with injuries and various conditions, Swedish, pre/postnatal massage, pediatric and infant massage, sports massage, chair massage, and working with those with special needs. Also, I am a Level 1 Reiki practitioner. I have studied and strongly believe in the body/mind connection which I bring into all my massage and instruction. My style of massage is an integration of modalities and techniques to make each client's massage a unique experience.
I fully believe that massage can heal the body, soothe the mind, and restore one's spirit. Massage therapy is the best way to de-stress and let go of worries along with aches and pains, and an excellent complement to other therapies.
