My yoga path began in my teenage years when I began to observe the trends of a fast-paced society, and how it negatively impacted people’s health and wellbeing. Incidents of poor health hit in my own home, stoking an inner fire that burned for change. That perspective kaleidoscoped into a drive to inspire people to find their inner vibrancy.
I am grateful to have been raised in Portland, Oregon, a city that has a vibrant movement encouraging yoga and wellness. As a young adult I knew that fitness would be a part of my career. In 2012 I discovered The Lotus Seed, a nonprofit yoga studio that offered a teacher training program with a focus on the Iyengar/Hatha approach. Obtaining the 200 hour RYT certification was my goal, which I completed in November of 2013. Yoga studies were balanced between a part time job and college credits, which taught me to manage stress, and find grace under pressure.
These days I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three huskies at our home in Vancouver, Washington. I have been known to spend an entire day adapting comfort food or pastry recipes to be more wholesome (but fantastic!). My parents are a huge inspiration to me; we share health focused time together. Still a college student, I study multimedia with a focus on graphic and web design. I have never considered a 9 to 5, high pressure job, and am so blessed that I can share my passion of yoga and art on a healthy schedule.
My intention is to help people step outside of their hectic lives and take the time they deserve for themselves. For every limitation you have, yoga has a possibility to compensate. Let’s find those possibilities together.
