Yoga and Movement Classes

Upon completion of the class, certificates will be issued to each student for two continuing education credits. Pre-registration is required.

Experience a neck massage routine that incorporates passive, active, and muscle energy techniques. Learn to increase range of motion, interrupt structural holding patterns, stop muscle spasms, and decrease pain. Use taught methods in both deeper and lighter bodywork sessions. Join us as we feel our way through a variety of motion integrated massage techniques to enhance your practice and the well-being of your clients.

We will repeatedly take turns practicing these techniques on the table. Please bring clothing that allows access to the bare shoulder and neck area, or bring a towel that you can secure around your chest.

About the Instructor: Kathy Miller began studying massage after receiving a traumatic neck injury. She enjoys integrating multiple modalities such as deep tissue, myoskeletal, muscle energy and myofascial release techniques. Kathy graduated from the Oregon School of Massage and has been licensed since 2005.



Student Guidelines

Many students prefer to own their own mat, although we do have mats in the studio you're welcome to use.  (Mats are available for purchase as well.)

Some students are very scent-sensitive; therefore, we ask that you kindly not wear perfume, cologne or heavy scents in class.

Please remove your shoes upon entering the studio (symbolic of leaving your 'troubles' at the door) and bring clean, bare feet to your practice time.  Wearing socks is optional, but you will want to remove them during standing poses for safety.

Feel free to wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move and stretch without restriction.

You may want to avoid eating anything except a light snack/meal for about one hour prior to your class.

You will also want to bring a water bottle into the classroom.
