Yoga and Movement Classes

Anatomy Journeys is an expedition to explore and map the pathways of the body, mind and spirit. We will study the human form and then have a direct experience of this knowledge in our own body as an integration of science and spirit. Each month we will explore an anatomical theme and take a journey of self-discovery.

The voyage begins with studying anatomy through the use of books, slides, videos and shared knowledge to plot our trail into the body. Along the way we will explore energy anatomy, tour all six senses and discover the inter-connectedness of the body, mind and spirit.

Anatomy Journeys is meant to open us up to the direct and powerful wisdom contained within our bodies by educating ourselves with knowledge. It is about becoming wise stewards of our physical and energetic systems and making empowered choices about our health and well-being from an intelligent vantage point. Bring your journal, water bottle and curiosity.

Student Guidelines

Many students prefer to own their own mat, although we do have mats in the studio you're welcome to use.  (Mats are available for purchase as well.)

Some students are very scent-sensitive; therefore, we ask that you kindly not wear perfume, cologne or heavy scents in class.

Please remove your shoes upon entering the studio (symbolic of leaving your 'troubles' at the door) and bring clean, bare feet to your practice time.  Wearing socks is optional, but you will want to remove them during standing poses for safety.

Feel free to wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move and stretch without restriction.

You may want to avoid eating anything except a light snack/meal for about one hour prior to your class.

You will also want to bring a water bottle into the classroom.
